• Magnetic filter system— Swaps in seconds with cold fingers; costs more per size.
• Exposure stacking— Software can fake some ND effects; it cannot un-reflect water or glass.

Maintenance notes

• Store in cases; clean with the same care as a front lens element.

Buying considerations

• Buy for your largest lens thread and step-up rings for the rest.
• A CPL and a 6-stop ND cover most landscape work.
• Cheap filters undo expensive glass — match quality to the lens.
